The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, were undoubtedly thrilled to be invited to Balmoral by King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The late Queen loved to visit Balmoral, where the royal family usually spends the last week of their summer vacations. Princess Catherine revealed that the late Queen used to leave gifts for her great-grandchildren when they came to visit. As quoted by Catherine in the 2016 documentary Our Queen at Ninety, “[The Queen] always leaves a little gift or something in their room when we go and stay, and that just shows her love for her family.”
This year’s family vacation to Balmoral will be bittersweet because it will be the first time the family has spent the summer there since the Queen’s passing in September.
Charles is well known for having a close relationship with his grandchildren; he is even known as “Grandpa Wales,” and he probably has some sort of treat in store for them. In a picture released by Clarence House to commemorate Prince Louis’ second birthday, which showed Charles cradling the young child, the monarch demonstrated what a loving grandfather he is.
The King said, when asked about having grandchildren, “It’s a different part of your life. The best thing to do is to inspire them. Display items to pique their interest. That was done by my grandmother. She was fantastic. It’s crucial to establish a connection with them when they’re still very young.
Although he wishes he could spend more time with his grandchildren, Prince William has called Charles a “brilliant” grandfather. William responded to the question of whether Charles has the time to be a grandfather by saying, “I’m working more heavily on it. Although I believe he has the time, I would prefer that he spend more time with the kids.
I believe he’s… It’s the ideal time to consolidate a little bit now that he is 70 years old because, like most families, you are concerned about keeping them around and ensuring their health. Although he is the fittest man I know, I want him to stay that way until he is 95. Therefore, spending more time with him at home and being able to play with the grandchildren would be wonderful. Because he is brilliant when he is present. But he is absolutely necessary for us to have there.
Prince George still has a special gift on the King’s Birkhall Estate, even though the monarch hasn’t been able to arrange a small present for his grandchildren. Charles planted a tree for the young royal when he was born and described in a BBC documentary his hopes for it to develop into a wood. He declared, “Really, this is George’s wood.” He will find it to be quite amazing as both he and they mature.
Charles will have plenty to do once the summer vacation is over because it has been confirmed that his state visit to France has been rescheduled. From September 20 to 22, the royal is scheduled to travel to Paris and Bordeaux.
The couple’s trip was delayed after widespread rioting and days of demonstrations against President Emmanuel Macron’s pension age reforms. The couple had been scheduled to visit the nation in March.
