Sarah Ferguson Revealed How She Really Thinks Princess Diana Would Feel About Harry and Meghan’s Decision to Leave the Family

When Harry and Meghan announced in January 2020 that they would be stepping down from their roles as senior royals within the royal family, they shocked the world. Since then, the couple has made their home in California and even welcomed their second child, Princess Diana, who is named after Queen Elizabeth and Harry’s mother.

Sarah Ferguson, who had long since disassociated herself from the royal family following her divorce from Prince Andrew, was close to Diana. She also recently revealed how she believes Diana would have reacted to Harry and Meghan’s royal departure.

The royal family is still dealing with the fallout from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure.
People were stunned when Harry and Meghan announced their royal departure in January 2020. It did not, however, have the same impact on the public as it did on the royal family. There were rumors of tension between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton at the time, but they were unfounded beyond “anonymous sources.” But the focus quickly shifted to Harry and Prince William.

During Harry and Meghan’s trip to South Africa in 2019, Harry revealed that he and his brother were having some issues, fueling even more rumors. In the majority of cases, the media favored William and Kate over Meghan and Harry. The media — and the rumors — eventually became too much for Harry and Meghan, and they stepped down.

Sarah Ferguson recently stated that Princess Diana would be “proud” of Harry and Meghan’s choice.

Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson has previously spoken out about Harry and Meghan’s decision to step down, and she appeared to be happy for the couple as they settled into their new life in America. Fergie also revealed how she believes Princess Diana would have felt about Harry and Meghan’s decision to start a new life together in a recent interview.

“I believe Diana would be very proud of her sons, and I believe they are exceptional boys with exceptional wives and fabulous children, so I believe she would say, ‘Yes!’” Ferguson told The Independent in an interview.

Diana would be “very proud” of Harry and William for “standing tall and firm,” according to Fergie.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not yet returned to the United Kingdom as a family. Harry and Meghan have been living in the United States for over a year, but they have not yet returned to the United Kingdom as a family. Harry has returned on his own two times: once to attend Prince Philip’s funeral and once with his brother to unveil a statue of Princess Diana. During both outings, Meghan was pregnant and at home with her new daughter Lilibet Diana.

Because the pandemic is still affecting travel, it’s unclear when Harry and Meghan will return to see Harry’s family. The couple’s youngest child has yet to be met by the royal family. As of March 2021, Harry and his father, Prince Charles, were still at odds.

  1. People have a tendency to inject their opinions based upon their life experiences on Harry and Meghan. Harry is not a little boy or the wild party guy anymore – he hasn’t been for a very long time. And Meghan is not who her stepsister that barely actually knows her or her father who she has had an up and down relationship with describe. She has given Harry a safe place to rest his heart and he has given her security. No matter how anyone feels about them, they didn’t fall in love and marry for ANY of us but for them. As for their leaving, no one should be surprised that they would. Just read some of the terrible press and it has been relentless. Did anyone really think that they would just sit there and be treated like this for the rest of their lives? Did anyone really think that Harry doesn’t love his wife deeply enough to do whatever he needed for her to be safe and secure? Does anyone really think Harry hasn’t thought about how his children will be treated after that picture of the baby chimp with a man and woman appeared in the newspapers? And does anyone think that all this hate talk will make Harry leave his wife and children and come back? Come back to what? He was the second most popular royal in the years when his life was spiraling out of control and now as a man whose life is calm and happy one of the least popular. So, again, come back for what?

    • I agree with you 100%. It is simply unconscionable how the British public has treated Harry and Meghan when they have not done anything wrong. Someone in the media decided that they had deeply hurt the Queen. I don’t believe that for a minute. The Queen may not have known everything Meghan was going through, but she no doubt believed what Meghan said. The Queen is in contact with both Harry and Meghan and has this had discussions between them that the media knows nothing about. Had she even hinted at being “gutted with anger and hurt to the bone” as one tabloid put it, Harry would have done something to make amends. Having said that, I also think the Queen could do much more by way of showing public support for Harry and Meghan and it would cancel out much of the bad media.

  2. I agree with Fergie, however, the dangers of a royal couple here could multiply a few times. Yet very happy for them both. Many Royals have come here from the past. They just never said anything about it. No one knew who they were.

  3. I am so upset how some of the British treat Harry and Meghan on Facebook they are really nasty towards them . They deserve the life they want just like any human being and I admire them for it and hope they find what they where looking for . Good luck Harry and Meghan my heart is with you .
