The family resemblance is obvious in Charles Spencer’s stunning Instagram post of his and Princess Diana’s mother.
The portrait of Frances Spencer demonstrates how much the late Princess of Wales resembled her mother with her expertly styled wavy golden hair, bright blue eyes, and kind smile.
Charles captioned the post with some details about the painting’s residence on the Althorp estate along with a photo of the artwork.
He said, “Portrait of my mother, which stands in Althorp’s Library,” and continued, “Surrounded by pictures of four of her children. (The other, her son John, passed away the day after his birth.)
In addition to sharing the photo to mark his mother’s birthday, the ninth Earl Spencer also shared some fascinating additional royal background information.
Charles said, “My mother was born in Park House, Sandringham, 87 years ago today. “King George V passed away on the exact same day, January 20, 1936, in Sandringham House, a short distance away.
Mom passed away in 2004 at the age of 68. Too young,” he emphatically added to conclude the rambling family history post.
Diana, Frances’ youngest daughter and fourth child, was immediately recognized by Charles’ Instagram followers as Diana.
One person stated, “It’s obvious where Diana’s beauty came from.”
Another exclaimed, “Diana’s eyes!”
Commenters were eager to express their sympathy for the Earl as well: “What a stunningly lovely portrait. One wrote, “May her soul rest in eternal peace.
While Diana’s younger brother has remained silent on social media about the problems that have arisen as a result of the publication of his nephew’s autobiography, he clearly still has an interest in sharing details about his family’s history and life.
He shared a different old family photo earlier in January, this time a picture of his and Diana’s grandfather, great-aunt, and great-uncle.
