The British royal family is currently led by Elizabeth II, who is the queen of the United Kingdom and 15 other Commonwealth realms.

In addition to Queen Elizabeth, senior royals represent the monarchy. These include Prince Charles; Camila, Duchess of Cornwall; Prince William; and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Other notable family members include the late Princess DianaPrince HarryMeghan, Duchess of Sussex; and Prince Andrew.

The current line of succession is Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince George.

The British monarchy traces back to the first king of all of England: Athelstan (895-939 AD) of the House of Wessex. He was the grandson of Alfred the Great and is the 30th great-granduncle to Queen Elizabeth II.
