Princess Catherine’s most recent outfit is undoubtedly another example of how a royal church outing inspires our sense of style.
We were pleasantly surprised by the Princess of Wales’ appearance as she attended church in Balmoral on Sunday with her husband Prince William and other senior royals like King Charles and Queen Camilla. Catherine typically favors hats with wide brims in the style of My Fair Lady, but this time she chose a trilby with feather accents.
Princess Catherine, 41, is seen in pictures obtained by the MailOnline arriving at church while gazing out of the window and displaying her country-chic headpiece in all its splendor.
Fans left with mixed opinions about whether the hat, a £99 Hicks & Brown “Suffolk Fedora with Gamebird Feather in Dark Brown,” was appropriate for church.
“I don’t like when she wears that style of hat,” one fan remarked, while another claimed the hairstyle was what made the outfit look unattractive. They commented, “I don’t think this hat works with that hairstyle; it seems like a strange choice to me.”
As usual, Catherine nailed the brief and we think the look is a winner. Other admirers concurred, with one saying: “I own the same hat and I wear it everywhere. There’s nothing wrong with donning one to church, said one person, while another agreed, saying, “It is EXACTLY the hat for Church in the countryside in Scotland.”
For the special occasion, which saw the senior royals reunite in Scotland for the first time since the late Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, Catherine also wore a tweed jacket.
The royal mother experimented with her hairstyle by bunning her brunette locks low. She accessorized with lovely drop earrings, probably her favorite citrine pears.
Although her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis did not attend the church service at Balmoral, it is believed that they have moved to Scotland with their parents in preparation for the start of the new school year in September.
During their visit, the family is likely to catch up with Zara Tindall, Peter Phillips, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie, as well as William’s cousins and their families.
In recent weeks, Princess Catherine has kept a low profile while taking a well-earned break from her numerous royal engagements.
She was last seen attending a quiet outing with friends at a music festival held at Norfolk’s Houghton Hall.
The royal, according to Richard Eden of The Daily Mail, visited her neighbors, the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley David and Rose, before going to the 24-hour music festival.
On the 1,000-acre estate, she allegedly partied until the wee hours while sipping margaritas.
