While their kids, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, enjoy the summer break from school, the Prince and Princess of Wales are on vacation.
But before the young royals return to school in September, there is one custom they are likely to observe.
In the upcoming weeks, King Charles and Queen Camilla are anticipated to host their families at Balmoral Castle alongside Prince William and Catherine.
The public is no longer allowed to visit the King’s official Scottish residence, but in years past, different family members have been seen flying into Aberdeen Airport, which is about an hour away from the castle.
It is unknown if William and Catherine have taken their kids on a summer vacation abroad this year, but in the past they have travelled to Jordan and Mustique in the Caribbean.
The five-member family has also taken pleasure in staycations on the Isles of Scilly, which are off the coast of Cornwall.
In 2020, William, Catherine, and their young children were spotted cycling around Tresco Island, the only privately-owned island out of the five that are inhabited.
Usually, the Prince and Princess enjoy spending the summer vacation at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.
Catherine was spotted last weekend at the Houghton Festival among the partygoers. The royal’s friends David Rocksavage and Rose Hanbury, formerly known as the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley, hosted the event at their nearby Houghton Hall residence.
William is anticipated to tune in to watch the Lionesses take on Spain in the World Cup final on Sunday.
The Prince tweeted about the England team’s semi-final 3-1 victory over Australia on the social media site X, formerly known as Twitter.
“What a phenomenal performance from the @Lionesses – on to the final! Commiserations to @TheMatildas, you’ve played brilliantly and been fantastic co-hosts of this World Cup. W,” he penned.
In a personal letter to Sarina Wiegman’s team, King Charles also expressed his support, writing: “My wife and I join all our family in sending the mighty Lionesses our warmest congratulations on reaching the World Cup final, and in sharing our very best wishes for Sunday’s match.
“Both teams have been an inspiration on and off the pitch – and, for that, both nations are united in pride, admiration, and respect,” the statement reads. “While your victory may have cost the magnificent Matildas their chance to win the greatest prize in the game.”
Charles R. served as his royal cypher as he concluded the message.
