When deciding on a name for their daughter, Princess Lilibet, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex honored their close relatives.
The newborn daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan was delivered on June 4, 2021, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California.

The couple made an announcement about her birth two days later, including Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor’s full name.
The name was an homage to Harry’s late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, and the family nickname of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Lilibet and her cousin Princess Charlotte have a special bond.
Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, the only child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, was born in May 2015. Her middle names, which also pay homage to the late Queen and Diana, are Princess Charlotte and Elizabeth.

In fact, starting with the late Queen’s own daughter, Princess Anne, many of her female children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren bear the middle name Elizabeth.
Zara Anne Elizabeth Tindall is the daughter of Anne, whose full name is Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise. Lena Elizabeth is the name Zara and her husband Mike Tindall gave to their second child.
Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary is the firstborn child of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York. Likewise, Lady Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary is the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
The second daughter of Peter Phillips and his former wife Autumn, was also given the name Isla Elizabeth.

When their daughter was born in September 2021, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi also gave her the name Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi.
The late Duke of Edinburgh was honored with middle names chosen by Princess Eugenie and Zara, who both welcomed sons in the same year.
August Philip Hawke Brooksbank is the full name of Eugenie’s son, who was born in February 2021, while Lucas Philip Tindall is the full name of Zara’s son, who was born in March 2021.
