The Prince and Princess of Wales have a very busy schedule

Prince William and Princess Kate turn down wedding invite with heartfelt message

As they travel the length and breadth of the United Kingdom learning about charitable endeavours, the Prince and Princess of Wales frequently have a busy schedule. The couple had to decline a wedding invitation in April despite receiving dozens of invitations.

Sadly, William and Catherine were unable to accept Katie Baddock’s invitation for the royal couple to attend her wedding. Katie is a member of the public and a royal fan.

The head of royal correspondence, Thomas Claridge, was asked to reply on their behalf in a heartfelt letter, though. “Dear Miss Baddock, the Prince and Princess of Wales have asked me to thank you for your letter in which you invited Their Royal Highnesses to your wedding on 7th April 2023.” – according to the message Katie posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I sincerely apologise for the delay in response, but I trust that you understand. The Prince and Princess were extremely grateful for your kind invitation.”

The letter continued, Although they were regretfully unable to attend, Their Royal Highnesses would have me send their hopes that your wedding day was a happy and memorable occasion.

“The Prince and Princess of Wales send you their best wishes for your future together, and thank you once again for taking the time to write.” The message was signed off by Thomas.

The response delighted Katie’s supporters, as one exclaimed: “How sweet and Kind of them! Dear, congratulations on your marriage. Wishing you your own fairy tale and a solid lifelong relationship,” and the other said: “How sweet! The royal fan was asked, “What would you have done if they actually showed up?,” and she acknowledged that she most likely would have “fainted.”

Although they were unable to make it to Katie’s wedding in June, William and Catherine were present when Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein wed Princess Rajwa.

The royal couple shared two stunning photos from their time in Jordan the day after the charming wedding, writing in the caption: “Celebrating the wedding of Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein in Jordan yesterday.”

The first picture showed William, 40, and Catherine, 41, entering the Zahran Palace gardens where the wedding was held. The Princess looked stunning in an Elie Saab blush pink dress, accessorised with a pair of eye-catching morganite earrings, and carried her Wilbur & Gussie clutch bag. The Prince wore a navy suit with a blue pattern tie.

The second picture was a lovely portrait of the newlyweds after the ceremony, grinning at one another. Rajwa, an architect, dazzled in a wedding gown by Elie Saab that featured an asymmetrical neckline and a fitted bodice. She accessorised her bridal look with a brand-new diamond tiara and an ethereal embroidered veil.

The Prince and Princess have connections to Jordan; during the middle of the 1980s, Catherine’s family lived in Amman for a number of years, and in 2021, the couple and their children spent a vacation there. An image from that trip was even used on a holiday Christmas card.

Crown Prince Hussein accompanied William on several official visits to Jordan in 2018; after the ceremony, the two men embraced.
