On Friday, Duchess Meghan, the wife of Prince Harry, turns 42. Her young children, Princess Lilibet, 2, and Prince Archie, 4, will undoubtedly spoil her at their Montecito, California, home.
We anticipate that King Charles and Queen Camilla will wish their daughter-in-law Meghan a happy birthday on August 4 despite the rumored conflicts in the royal family. This is a date that is especially significant for the King.
Meghan celebrates her special day alongside the late Queen Mother, a prominent royal to whom Charles had a close relationship.
The late Queen and her sister, the late Princess Margaret, were two of the late Queen Mother’s daughters with King George VI. The late Queen was born Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon.
In March 2002, the Queen Mother sadly passed away at the age of 101. She was the first member of the British royal family to turn 100 in 2000 and passed away peacefully in her sleep at Royal Lodge in Windsor. From 1953 until her death, she lived at Clarence House.
Charles and Camilla later made Clarence House their home in London, but he left many of the rooms exactly as they had been when his grandmother had lived there, including the Horse Corridor.
Charles paid a heartfelt tribute to his grandmother after she passed away.
He made the following statement during a live broadcast from Highgrove House: “Somehow I never thought [her death] would happen. She appeared to be gloriously unstoppable, and I have adored her ever since I was a young child.
I was completely devoted to her because she was the most magical grandmother a person could have.
Author Gareth Russell states the following in his book Do Let’s Have Another Drink!: The Dry Wit and Fizzy Life of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother:
“Simply because the Queen became Queen when Charles was so young, the Queen Mother served as a mother figure to Charles in some ways. There were numerous tours of the Commonwealth, and Prince Charles always stayed with the Queen Mother when she had to travel.
On August 4, it’s likely that the monarch will honor the late Queen Mother, as he did in 2021 when he shared a sweet childhood photo of himself at age 11 with his grandmother in Clarence House’s garden.
“On this day in 1900, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother was born,” the Instagram caption stated. The Prince of Wales’s grandmother, The Queen Mother, spent close to 50 years residing at Clarence House. The silver vase with rosemary in the first image was a birthday present given to The Queen Mother.
