Roger Federer talks sitting next to Princess Kate at Wimbledon

During one of the Princess of Wales’ appearances at Wimbledon last month, she had a very special guest seated next to her in the royal box.

On the second day of the tennis competition, 41-year-old Catherine was joined by eight-time champion Roger Federer.

She joined the audience in standing ovating the Swiss star as he was introduced on Centre Court.

And now Roger has shared details of his day out with the three-time royal mom.

It was a lot of fun sitting next to Princess Catherine, the 41-year-old athlete who gave up competitive sports in 2022 told The New York Times. She’s someone I know well. She enjoys playing tennis and is an avid fan.

Furthermore, he described what it was like to be seated in the royal box.

We must occasionally exercise caution to avoid talking too much. You can speak, but after that it becomes extremely quiet, at which point you must applaud.

In a video that was produced to highlight the work of the Ball Boys and Girls, Catherine and the tennis legend played doubles prior to the Wimbledon 2023 tournament.

The Princess, who has supported The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) since 2016, has attended the SW19 competition on a regular basis ever since she started dating Prince William.

When the family resided at Kensington Palace, it is even claimed that she took tennis lessons at the upscale Hurlingham Club in Fulham.

Roger and Catherine have a long history of friendship; in fact, in May 2017, the tennis pro attended Pippa Middleton’s nuptials to James Matthews.

Prince George, the eldest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, received a private tennis lesson from Roger while visiting the family’s home, as Roger previously revealed, adding: “At that stage it’s all about just touching the ball, it’s already good.” Likewise for my boys. I believe I have a slight advantage because I actually spent time with him.

In attendance with their parents for the Carlos Alcaraz vs. Novac Djokovic men’s final were Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Carlos won the thrilling five-set match, and the young royals were just as animated as William and Catherine throughout it.

Even as the royals met the Wimbledon champion backstage, Charlotte briefly seemed overcome with shyness.
