It has been reported that 52-year-old Justin Peacock, a writer for the TV show Suits, has passed away. The renowned author, who also contributed to Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer, died on July 13 at his Los Angeles home, according to the L.A. County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office. His death has been linked to cardiovascular atherosclerosis.
Following the news, Justin’s family issued a formal statement that read: “Justin’s brilliant mind, biting wit, and passionate convictions will be forever missed by his friends and family.”
According to Deadline, Justin spent his final months with friends on the WGA picket lines. Anyone who wants to pay tribute to the writer-producer by making a donation is asked to do so to the WGA Strike Fund rather than sending flowers.
Notably, Justin contributed to three Suits seasons between 2012 and 2015, which means Meghan Markle would have worked on the same set as him. In 2011, the former actress was cast as Rachel Zane, and she portrayed the driven and gifted paralegal through to 2018, when she made her final on-screen appearance.
Meghan even moved from Los Angeles to Toronto for her role in Suits, renting a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house in the Seaton Village neighborhood. Many of her former co-stars are still close friends with her; Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Rafferty, Gina Torres, and Abigail Spencer were present at her wedding in 2018.
While it is unknown if Meghan and Justin collaborated frequently, it is very likely that they did so during table readings or on the set.
Meghan frequently discusses her time on the show, which she remembers with affection. The 41-year-old said to Marie Claire in 2013 about Suits: “I see Rachel as such a good friend, and it’s so much easier to play a character you love.
“I support her; in a way, I’m a fan. I would really enjoy this show if I weren’t on it because each of the characters is like someone you know. In my personal life, I constantly borrow items from Rachel’s closet, who I like to compare to the ideal best friend.
