Gender equality is one of the most important causes that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle care deeply about. So, just a few weeks before the Duchess of Sussex turned 42, they were delighted to assist a report with this objective.
It was announced on the Archewell website that the group had aided Equimundo in the publication of a new report. Equimundo is a nonprofit organization that seeks “to engage men and boys as allies in gender equality.” In the 17 countries it surveyed, this report found a rising percentage of men helping out with childcare.
The report, which can be read in its entirety here, was summarized by Archewell as follows: “The 2023 data shows that men are increasingly involved in caregiving and would like to increase their care work at home, but that they are discouraged from doing so by deeply ingrained social norms, a lack of supportive policies, and power structures.
“The report calls for continued progress toward gender equality and acknowledges care work as the foundation of society. Additionally, it highlights the necessity of media representation that normalizes men’s roles in providing care.
The statement’s conclusion read, “The Archewell Foundation is proud to have supported both this report and Equimundo’s ongoing efforts to promote gender equality throughout the world.”
The Duchess of Sussex’s 42nd birthday is just a few weeks away, and while Harry will probably spoil his wife on her special day, the festivities will be largely kept out of the public eye.
But Meghan had to celebrate her birthday publicly when she was a member of the royal family, frequently carrying out official duties. The two engaged in conservation work with the nonprofit organization Elephants Without Borders in honor of Meghan’s 36th birthday. After exiting the plane, the pair was seen walking together as Harry tenderly wrapped his arm around his then-girlfriend.
Meghan and Harry attended their friend Charlie van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks’ wedding in Surrey on Meghan’s 37th birthday, which also happened to be her first as a member of the royal family. With a black Philip Treacy hat, Aquazzura heels, and a color-blocked pastel midi dress from Club Monaco, the Duchess looked stunning.
On their now-defunct Sussex Royal Instagram account, the Duke posted a picture of his wife wearing a blue Veronica Beard dress during their 2018 visit to Tonga in honor of Meghan’s 38th birthday. “Happy Birthday to my amazing wife,” he wrote. “Wishing HRH The Duchess of Sussex a very Happy Birthday. I appreciate you coming along on this journey with me. Love, H.”
However, the couple was able to have some private time together because a few days after the Duchess turned 38, her husband took her on a family vacation to Ibiza.
