The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are proud parents to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet

Did Meghan Markle hint at future baby name at royal wedding?

Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, are accustomed to living with their parents, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, in California.

Prior to the birth of Lilibet in June 2021, Harry and Meghan admitted in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that they were aware of their pregnancy.

The late Queen Elizabeth II’s family nickname and Harry’s late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, inspired the name Lilibet Diana, but did the couple reserve the name for their unborn child at the royal nuptials in 2018?

Philippa Craddock, a florist, created Meghan’s wedding bouquet, which included a lovely combination of Jasmine, Astilbe, Astrantia, Myrtle, Sweet Peas, and Lily of the Valley. How lovely!

And HELLO! exclusively revealed that one month prior to Lilibet’s birth, the Duke and Duchess ordered a custom babygrow from Sabrina Brian’s Etsy shop with “Petite Lili” embroidered on it, suggesting that they were even more certain of the name.

In December, Sabrina revealed to HELLO! that the order had been placed in May of 2021.

Nothing unusual about the order stands out in my memory, other than the fact that I thought the embroidery was adorable and that I was happy with the way it turned out.

On June 4, 2021, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born at a hospital in Santa Barbara. Harry and Meghan announced her birth and name two days later.

In his memoir Spare, which was published in January, Harry described the poignant moment he assisted in bringing his daughter into the world.

The doctor told him it would only take a few minutes, so he told his wife, Meg, that he wanted to be the first face our daughter saw.

I slid my hands under the tiny back and neck, the Duke continued. I drew our precious daughter from that world into this one gently but firmly, as I had seen in movies. I held her for a brief moment while trying to smile at her and see her, but I couldn’t see anything. Hello, I wanted to say. I wanted to ask: From where are you? I wanted to ask: Is that place better? Is it tranquil? Do you feel afraid? All will be well, so don’t be, don’t be. I’ll protect you.

Following Charles’ ascension to the throne last September, the Duke and Duchess announced in March that Lilibet had been christened at their Montecito home, confirming that they are now using Archie and Lilibet’s royal titles.

According to the regulations established by King George V in 1917, Archie and Lilibet are automatically prince and princess because they are the offspring of a sovereign and can now use the HRH style.
