The Netflix documentary about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not receive an Emmy nomination because it was not included in the list of contenders that was made public on Wednesday.
A day after it was made public that the show had been nominated for a Hollywood Critics Award, this depressing news was announced.
The Sussexes’ show was initially under consideration for two Emmy categories, Outstanding Documentary and Nonfiction Series, but it was never chosen.
Fans might be surprised by this given that the show generated a lot of buzz when it debuted in December and even attracted more viewers than The Crown for its premiere.
The royal couple won’t learn whether they won a Hollywood Critics Award for their incredibly intimate series in which they allowed cameras into their lives until next month.
The Harry & Meghan eponymous show chronicled the couple’s romance as well as their difficult resignation as working royals moved to the US.
The Sussexes, who are typically very private with their two children, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, released a ton of private video, showing adorable interactions with the young ones.

The young royal also demonstrated his baking prowess while Ashleigh, Meghan’s niece, visited. He stirred the muffin batter in their lovely kitchen.

Princess Lilibet made several noteworthy appearances as well, including one precious scene from when she was a newborn. Lilibet Diana was sleeping on her father’s chest and making some funny faces.
