Kate Middleton previously revealed how her husband celebrated their first Valentine’s Day together even though they were separated for the occasion.
In this video, Kate Middleton shares a glimpse of her Valentine’s Day with Prince William.
The Princess of Wales, 41, discussed the approaching holiday on Tuesday as she was in Leeds, England’s Kirkgate Market. She went out in public in order to promote the beginning of her new Shaping Us initiative, which aims to increase public understanding of the significance of a child’s first five years of life. The program is a component of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which Princess Kate officially opened in June 2021.
The monarch visited a flower stand at Kirkgate Market, where florist Neil Ashcroft gave her hyacinths and talked to her about his company.
Ashcroft predicted that Valentine’s Day would see William buying the couple some red roses. Princess Kate allegedly said, “I don’t believe he will do,” according to the florist.
Ashcroft, who has been selling flowers at the busy market for 32 years, expressed regret that he wasn’t able to close the deal.
“I suggested a discount to her. I promised to give her a card and the owner of M&D Flowers stated, adding that he enjoyed talking to Princess Kate since she “acted very real.”
Princess Kate previously disclosed that Prince William sent flowers and a card on their first Valentine’s Day as newlyweds when they were apart because of his deployment as a Royal Air Force helicopter pilot. Prince William and Princess Kate were married in April 2011.
Tuesday saw Kate continue to make her way through the market, engaging with shoppers and having conversations with vendors about the early days. In Leeds, which is located around 200 miles north of London, the interests of children and young people are at the center of daily life. The goal of the city is to be the best location in the United Kingdom for young people to grow up.
Prince Michael Middleton was born in the city, and Princess Kate has familial roots in the Yorkshire county. As a result, she has a personal connection to the city.
When a mother with a baby had the chance to talk with Kate, the mother informed PEOPLE about their cordial conversation. Sadie, an 8-month-old infant, was also in tow, according to Louise Keith “We praised Leeds as a fantastic place to raise children. Her campaign is an excellent idea. It helps those who require it. Although we are lucky to have a strong local support system, it is nevertheless beneficial to others who don’t.”
The Princess of Wales has had a busy week. On Monday, she gave a historic address to begin the Shaping Us campaign. On Tuesday, she visited Leeds. She has also increased her social media following. As part of the Shaping Us campaign, Princess Kate launched a new Instagram account for the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood with the name @earlychildhood. With a fresh video added on Tuesday, the feed currently includes the initiative’s iconic Claymation film and Kate traveling across Leeds.
In the video, the campaign’s newly named “champions”—podcaster Giovanna Fletcher, broadcaster Fearne Cotton, Arsenal Women’s soccer player Leah Williamson, DJ Jax Jones, broadcaster and retired rugby player Ugo Monye, and former Love Island contestant Zara McDermott—made cameo appearances to discuss relationships, mental health, and identity.
Kate continued where they left off, “Which is why our early childhood shapes the adults we become,” she said.
“You might not be aware of it, but our early years have an impact on everything, from how we develop relationships to how we handle stress. Thank you very much to our Champions for spreading the word! #ShapingUs, “read the caption.
