Prince William and Princess Kate help out at Windsor food bank – best photos

The Prince and Princess of Wales volunteered on Thursday at a food bank in Windsor.

Nearby to their Berkshire residence, Prince William and Catherine visited Windsor Foodshare to learn more about the assistance the organization offers to local residents, both individuals and families. The Waleses also assisted in the food parcel packing for the charity’s client, and William couldn’t help but tease his wife a little.

Following a meeting she hosted at Windsor Castle the day before, Catherine teased an upcoming exciting new project during their joint outing.

The volunteers at Windsor Foodshare were praised by the Prince and Princess of Wales for their “vital” work while they were there.

Given that the project is supported by their new school, Lambrook, Catherine revealed that their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are also aware of it.

Windsor Foodshare, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary later this year, offers any local household where there is a chance that a person or family will go without food due to a lack of funds short-term weekly assistance in the form of food parcels containing ambient foods, bread, eggs, fresh fruit, and vegetables.

Monthly supplies of cleaning supplies and toiletries are also given out. The organization, which is a part of Windsor Christian Action, depends entirely on monetary and food donations from private citizens, companies, and neighborhood shops.

The Prince and Princess visited the service’s staff members to learn more about the assistance they offer to those in need and about the charity’s founding principles, which center on treating everyone equally and refraining from passing judgment on people’s circumstances.

The couple assisted in filling packages with fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, and long-life items in addition to canned goods.

The Princess asked volunteers a ton of questions as they organized spaghetti cans, such as how many clients are served each week.

William came by and made fun of his wife: “There’s way too much droning on in this place! We must move a little more quickly! I already know who the talkative people are around here.”

Catherine poked fun at him for loading the trolley in return. Her husband muttered sheepishly, “It was a bit of a mess.”

The Princess said, “This really is a wonderful place for bringing people together.”

William and Catherine learned that the demand for the service, which is based on referrals from a variety of sources including schools, doctors, social services, churches, and community wardens, has been negatively impacted by the rising cost of living.

More than 7,000 locals were fed by the nonprofit in 2022, an increase of 18% from the year before. This means that 150 people receive food from Windsor Foodshare on average every week.

William said, “We would love to come back without the entourage,” as the couple left with the promise to return.

Catherine exclaimed, “Lovely to meet you, Sarah, and the team,” laughing as the coordinator informed them that one of them had undoubtedly been a better packer than the other, though she preferred not to say who.

William quipped, “And one’s a better cook than the other.”

After, volunteer Jane Willocks stated: “They made a beautiful couple. Clearly well-informed, but eager to participate and learn about what we are doing.”

“Catherine was particularly interested in learning about the food’s quantity and quality. The canned meat, which doesn’t look particularly appetizing but which we can’t serve fresh, was the subject of many of her questions. Additionally, the fact that we provide fresh food like fruit, vegetables, and eggs really impressed her.

“They were both deeply moved by the respect we show our customers. Catherine also liked the fact that we have kids in here, who pick up on the fact that others are less fortunate than them very early on.”

The Princess wore a repeat pink coat by Hobbs London, a matching high-neck knit, and a pair of wide-legged Jigsaw pants.

Following their visit, the couple tweeted: “It was wonderful to spend time with the Windsor Foodshare volunteers this morning.

“Those in the neighborhood who are in need greatly benefit from the donations and food packages.

Hope we helped with the packing more than we hindered it!
