This May, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will mark the fifth anniversary of their union, but Prince Harry shared a “surreal” fact about the day they first began communicating online.
Prince Harry claimed in his autobiography, Spare, that he first noticed American actress Meghan Markle in 2016 after seeing a picture of her with his friend, Violet Von Westenholz, on Instagram.

Before exchanging numbers and texting into the night, the two started corresponding via the social media app. Harry places great significance on the date of their initial communications.

When Harry was only 12 years old, Diana, Princess of Wales tragically perished in a car accident in Paris in 1997.

The Duke discussed yet another fortunate turn of events in Harry and Meghan’s six-part Netflix documentary.
On Valentine’s Day in 2021, the couple made the announcement that Lilibet, their second child, was on the way. Harry claimed in the final episode that after the announcement, he received messages with newspaper clippings showing the front page where Diana announced she was expecting Harry, her second child, on February 14, 1984.
