Following her 41st birthday celebration and the publication of her brother-in-law Prince Harry’s world-record-breaking memoir Spare, the Princess of Wales and her husband, the Prince of Wales, resumed their royal duties on Thursday.
Just one day after sending their children back to school, the couple traveled to Liverpool to officially open the new Royal Liverpool University Hospital. They delighted fans by taking selfies and dressing alike.

Kate wore a navy belted dress from Cefinn, matching Gianvito Rossi heels, and a tartan coat from Holland & Cooper to look sophisticated. She completed her ensemble with her Mulberry Amberley handbag and sapphire earrings that perfectly complemented her engagement ring, which she had temporarily taken off while she was there.
Kate took off two of her most priceless jewelry pieces for a portion of the royal visit, which lasted several hours. These pieces were her engagement ring and her eternity band.

On her fourth finger, Kate could clearly see her Welsh gold wedding band, but her Annoushka Eclipse diamond eternity ring and 12-carat sapphire engagement ring were not present.
Health and safety concerns led Kate to take the bands off. Kate has previously taken her priceless jewelry off before going to the hospital.
She didn’t wear both bands in 2020 when she went to the Evelina Children’s Hospital; instead, she wore just her wedding ring. She had done the same when she had spent time with the kids at Great Ormond Street two years prior.

At the time, Kensington Palace informed online that Kate had taken off her accessories because it was crucial for the royal to remove any possible hygiene risks before visiting the children’s wards.
