Even though it’s 2023, one of our favorite things to do is to reminisce about the amazing outfits our favorite family has worn in the past.
As part of a global green initiative, the Princess of Wales dressed festively in tartan last month when she went outside to plant a tree in honor of the late Queen.
The mother-of-three layered up in her beloved double-breasted tartan coat by Holland Cooper for the outdoor event. The item features a longline silhouette, a loose, double-breasted cut, a woven wool blend, and opulent satin lining. It is available for sale on the brand’s website for £749.
A high fashion edge was added to the lavish coat by its oversized pockets and gleaming golden buttons.
This coat reminded us of one the Duchess of Sussex wore in 2018, which is why we thought it looked familiar.

For their official trip to Scotland that year, Prince Harry and his then-fiancée Meghan stopped in Edinburgh. The Royal Marines Scotland Band provided a formal welcome to the city at the couple’s first stop, the Esplanade in front of the famous Edinburgh Castle.
Meghan battled the chilly weather while sporting a Burberry coat in a patriotic tartan, Veronica Beard black pants, and a Strathberry green bag.
The coat, which also has a blue and green check pattern, was a standout winter item. Both royal ladies appear stunning!
Catherine and Meghan have worn comparable looks in the past. When Harry and Meghan visited Locanda Verde in Tribeca back in July of last year, they changed out of their earlier-worn Givenchy pencil skirts and wowed the crowds in a stunning monochrome jumpsuit by the royally adored brand Gabriela Hearst.

We couldn’t help but notice how similar Meghan’s jumpsuit was to the dress the Duchess of Cambridge wore in May in Leicester Square, London, for the Top Gun: Maverick premiere. It also featured a bardot neckline and black and white accents. Uncanny!
