While Princess Kate and Prince William were off performing their royal duties, they went on a James Bond-inspired top-secret date. The Prince of Wales was given the Welsh-built Aston Martin DBX707 for a weekend test drive, according to The Sun, and the couple recently set out on an exhilarating adventure.
William probably enjoyed taking his wife for a spin around Norfolk in the fastest SUV in the world. The top-of-the-line vehicle, which is currently priced at £189,000, has a top speed of 193 mph. Four Aston Martin models have so far been featured in James Bond films, but the DBX707 has yet to appear on screen.
Prince William has frequently been compared to James Bond in the past, which may surprise royal fans, especially after franchise producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli joked that he “ticks all the boxes” for the prestigious role.
Despite the fact that the royal would have been the ideal choice, the duo admitted in June 2022 that they were “still on the hunt” for a replacement for Daniel Craig as 007 while accepting a CBE from William.
Barbara Broccoli made light of the Prince in her joke: “The person we just met isn’t available, which is unfortunate. Unfortunately, he is already employed, but he would be the ideal candidate.”
Prince William is a huge James Bond fan and has gone to a number of the franchise’s movie premieres over the years. In 2008, the prince and his brother, Prince Harry, dressed to the nines for the Quantum of Solace red carpet. In 2015, Prince William attended the Spectre world premiere with his stunning wife, Princess Kate.
The Prince and Princess of Wales made one of their most recognizable appearances at the No Time To Die premiere at London’s Royal Albert Hall, which marked the conclusion of Daniel Craig’s epic portrayal of James Bond in 2021.
Kate looked like a Bond girl in a Jenny Packham gold sequin evening gown, while William appeared in a velvet tux fit for a secret agent.
