Today at Sandringham in Norfolk, Prince William, Prince of Wales, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, attended the Christmas Day service at St. Mary Magdalene Church. Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte, and Prince George also joined them.
King Charles III, who ascended to the throne on September 8, 2022, and whose coronation is scheduled for May 6, 2023, is spending his first Christmas as the monarch with the royal family.
Naturally, everyone was curious about Princess Catherine’s choice of attire for the historic event because her Christmas Day outfits have consistently been nothing short of spectacular.
Surprisingly, she eschewed her customary holiday attire in favor of a look that was refreshingly more country Catherine, perhaps a nod to her Berkshire roots. The future Queen once again wore her dependable custom Gianvito Rossi brown suede boots in addition to her dark green utilitarian Alexander McQueen coat, which has been seen on several occasions.
She accessorized it with Dina earrings from Sezane, which gave the outfit a fresh, contemporary feel. A new hat from one of her favorite milliners, Philip Treacy, completed the look. The look had a refined country elegance thanks to the wide brimmed hat. The royal opted for a natural glow with a glossy lip and lots of black mascara to draw attention to her eyes. She wore her glossy chestnut hair in a long, sleek blowout underneath her hat.
Prince George’s outfit matched Prince William’s signature dark suit and blue tie, which he wore at the same time. For the first time, Prince Louis came to the service dressed in shorts, knee-high socks, and a dapper navy blue pea coat. Princess Charlotte re-wore her mother’s burgundy coat from the “Together at Christmas” Carol Service at Westminster Abbey a few days earlier, following in her mother’s stylish footsteps.
One of the best Christmas outfits the family has worn, in our opinion.
