During their much-discussed Netflix documentary series, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle talked about their family’s happier times as well as their rift with Harry’s brother. The Sussexes also revealed the real reason they left their first residence in the UK, Nottingham Cottage.
They appear to have moved to Frogmore Cottage for two reasons, not just one. First and foremost, the couple’s initial cottage’s size was a factor because they made it clear that they thought it was rather small.
Oprah Winfrey, a friend of Harry and Meghan, admitted she was taken aback by their living arrangements when she paid them a visit for tea one day. Harry asked Meghan, “Did Oprah come over for tea? No one would ever believe it, she said as she sat down when she arrived, presumably alluding to the small size of the location.
Additionally, they posted pictures of Meghan Markle standing in a small hallway inside the modest home and Prince Harry standing almost head-to-head with the ceiling.
The fact that Nottingham Cottage is situated on the grounds of Kensington Palace, close to Apartment 1A, the London residence of Prince William and Princess Kate, seemed to be another factor.
When the couple was given the opportunity to move into a more rural, private home, they jumped at the chance because the royal residence’s location in central London makes it rather crowded and easier access for the press.
According to the couple’s friend Lucy Fraser, “they knew that they didn’t want to bring Archie up in this frenzy they lived in.”
Harry continued by explaining that the late Queen had left a cottage in Windsor that was available; it was called Frogmore Cottage, and it was located on the Great Windsor Park estate.
The location of our courtship, wedding, engagement, and walks were all associated with Frogmore Cottage, according to Meghan.
Even though they now reside in Montecito, the Sussexes continue to use Frogmore Cottage so they can use it on their trips back across the pond.
