The choices Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made in relation to the birth of their firstborn, Archie, have been discussed.
The couple claimed they had disagreed with the Palace regarding the location of their post-birth photocall with their infant in episode four of their Netflix docuseries.
Princess Kate has done this with all three of her children outside the Lindo wing, as is customary for royal babies to be unveiled on the hospital steps.

Instead, Harry and Meghan made the decision to announce the birth of their son to the world inside the walls of Windsor Castle, inviting media to cover the event.
The pressure of taking the photo with Archie on the steps was already present, according to Meghan. Do they intend to carry that out or not? However, I had been extremely concerned going into that labor because I was older and unsure if I would need a C-section.
“I had a very long-standing relationship with my doctor, and I trusted him with my pregnancy,” she continued. They responded, “Right, but she’s at Portland Hospital, and the stairs are here (in the Lindo Wing),” before continuing. I then responded, “OK, let’s set up a photo opportunity in front of Portland Hospital.”

They claimed that it was impossible. Since you would need to take this picture at the emergency room entrance, we couldn’t barricade the streets because that would put people in danger.
As she added, “And everything internal was like, ‘Yes, yes, oh great, yes.'” Meghan claimed she inquired about the “hybrid” solution and whether they could allow the press more time at the castle. No one ever said, “Absolutely not,” at any time.
Archie, Meghan’s son, was born on May 6, 2018, and Lilibet, her daughter, was born on June 4, 2021.
Misan Harriman, a photographer and close friend of Harry and Meghan, revealed the moment they told him that Meghan was pregnant once more in the series’ concluding episode.
“I simply panic. I panic because I understand what they’ve gone through to get there,” he said. They say, “It’s got to be you telling the world we have new life in our lives. If nothing else, I felt like I could use my imagination to almost protect them, if I could,” Mr. Harriman continued.

After they announced the pregnancy, Harry claimed that two people had sent him a newspaper front page from Valentine’s Day 1984, on which his mother had announced that she was expecting him.
In 2021, Harry and Meghan announced their engagement on the same day.
