The second episode of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new docuseries reveals how they felt about the Queen’s remarks made after their Oprah interview.
Tyler Perry watched Meghan read the statement aloud to him as she explained that Her Majesty had authorized its release, saying: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.”
“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.” The Duchess of Sussex paused and turned to face Tyler.
However, Harry’s message from Prince William cut short their conversation. When he showed his phone to his wife, Meghan enquired, ““What am I looking at? Wow. H just got a text from his brother.”
When Harry read the message, he appeared visibly upset and said, “I wish I knew what to do.” I know, Meghan said as she rose to give him a tight embrace. “I know. Let’s take a breather. Get some air and then decide.”
In episode five, Harry discussed the breakdown of his relationship with William, stating that it was “terrifying” to have his brother yell and scream at him, that my father had said things that were simply untrue, and that my grandmother had just sat there and quietly taken it all in.
“The saddest part of it,” he continued, “was this chasm that was driven between myself and my brother, putting him on the institution side and giving me a portion of his inheritance. So, to some extent, he already understands that maintaining the viability and future of this institution is part of his duty.
