On Thursday night, the entire royal family gathered to support Princess Catherine at her second carol concert.
During the very special service at Westminster Abbey, King Charles led the Queen Consort, Prince William, Prince Edward, and his wife, the Countess of Wessex.
To the joy of royal fans, Prince George and Princess Charlotte were also present. On December 16, the children’s school year ends and they begin their Christmas break. It was obvious that the siblings were happy to begin the holiday season early. Fans of the royal family were ecstatic as they cheered and chanted, “Kate, we love you!”
Sophie chose a long white coat, while Camilla chose an elegant white overcoat to stay warm.
In contrast, hostess Catherine commanded attention in a dazzling burgundy wrap-style coat. She added matching high heels, carried a clutch bag made of crocodile, and carried a pair of gloves.
Catherine’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, and siblings Pippa and James Middleton all attended the event as a show of support for the royal.
Despite the controversy surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s claims on their Netflix show earlier in the day, the royals appeared to be having a good time at the concert.
Given that the service this year was held in Her Majesty the Queen’s honor, it was even more noteworthy. In honor of her well-known Jubilee sketch, a Christmas tree in Westminster Abbey had even been decorated with Paddington Bear ornaments.
It will honor the virtues she exemplified throughout her life, such as “duty, empathy, faith, service, kindness, compassion, and support for others,” according to a previous statement from Buckingham Palace.
On Christmas Eve, ITV will broadcast the service. The renowned Westminster Abbey Choir will perform carols alongside musical performances and readings from special guests, fusing the traditional with the
contemporary.
When announcing the service, Kensington Palace noted that it would also honor the “selfless efforts” of individuals and groups in the UK and would draw attention to “the remarkable impact that banding together to support one another can have for us all.”
During the service, William read a portion of the late Queen’s 2012 Christmas message as guests entered the Abbey to the magical sound of snowflakes falling from a snow machine.
While boxer Nicola Adams attended in place of Paralympic star Kadeena Cox, Princess Catherine kept her guests amused by joking with Alfie Boe about her own singing abilities and chatting with both athletes.
