One set of the docuseries’ personal photos, which the couple shared with Netflix along with historical footage, came from the Queen’s most private residence. Her Majesty’s Welsh Cottage, which is located in Windsor, appears to be the setting for one of the couple’s social media posts. The late monarch loved the cottage as a child and often went there to play with Princess Margaret.

The cottage, known as Y Bwthyn Bach, was given to Princess Elizabeth when she was six years old as a birthday gift.

The building has never been accessible to the general public and is rarely seen; Andrew Marr once conducted an interview with Princess Beatrice there.

The Sussexes can be seen laughing and sipping tea from an elaborate tea set in the picture that they shared. They are seated by a spotless window.

When the photograph of the Sussexes was taken is unknown.

Other clips from their series, including one showing Harry and Meghan walking hand in hand inside an oval-shaped room, have also been shared from the Queen’s private residences.

According to royal protocol, the late Queen had to give her consent before pictures and videos could be taken inside the Palace, and according to the Telegraph, the couple lacked that consent.

The photographer wasn’t asked to leave the property, and it’s thought that neither of the two were informed of any complaints.

The picture was taken during Harry and Meghan’s “farewell tour,” during which they participated in a number of engagements before leaving the royal family and relocating to the United States.
