On Monday, Netflix released a stunning new teaser for the upcoming second installment of Prince Harry and Meghan’s docuseries. However, Twitter users noticed a discrepancy in the trailer posted on the streaming service’s website.
Prince Harry states: “They were happy to lie to protect my brother” in the subtitles that appeared on the video’s social media upload. Over Harry’s voiceover, the subtitles on the Netflix website read: “The British media are happy to lie to protect my brother.”
The streaming juggernaut later removed the social version.
With the initial release of the trailer, many social media users and media professionals assumed that “they” meant members of the British royal family. Netflix and, presumably, the Duke and Duchess were eager to correct the error as soon as they could.
The sixth and final installment of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s six-part Netflix series, which premieres on Thursday, December 15, will examine their choice to leave their regal responsibilities behind and establish themselves in America.
Harry is heard saying: “I wonder what would’ve happened to us if we hadn’t gotten out when we did” in the 90-second clip.
Added by Meghan “Security was being drew away from us. The entire world was aware of our location.”
Another statement made by the Duke is, “I said, ‘We need to get out of here.'”
The couple opened up about the beginnings of their relationship in the first three episodes, which aired last Thursday. This included how they first met and brand-new information about Harry’s proposal.
Along with new shots of their kids, Archie and Lilibet, and their life in California, there are a number of never-before-seen images and videos of Harry and Meghan from their private lives.
The Sussexes signed a contract with Netflix in 2020; its exact value is unknown, but it is thought to be in the neighborhood of $100 million.
