The controversial Netflix series starring the Duke and Duchess of Sussex debuted on December 8; despite having stepped down from their roles as senior royals, they still hold their titles.
Prince Harry and Meghan would no longer use their HRH titles, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace following the Sandringham summit agreement in March 2020.

The couple’s relationship with their immediate family is strained, and the royal family has been accused in the documentary.
Harry asserted that the palace had “planted stories” and charged that his family possessed “a huge level of unconscious bias.”
Can Harry and Meghan’s dukedom be revoked in the future? And would King Charles make that choice?

The monarch lacks the authority to revoke titles; a parliamentary act would be necessary. The last time this occurred was in 1917, when King George V signed the Titles Deprivation Act to strip several German and Austrian royals of their British peerage titles as a result of the First World War.
Therefore, the Duke and Duchess’ titles cannot be taken away from them in the future without a legal amendment.

A bill introduced by Labour MP Rachael Maskell would grant the monarch new authority to revoke titles or allow a committee of Parliament to decide whether a title should be revoked.
She previously claimed that after the Duke of York’s settlement with Virginia Giuffre, who had accused Prince Andrew of sexual assault, in February 2022, her constituents made it clear to her that they wanted the title to be taken away.
The Duke has refuted every accusation.
