The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, moved to Windsor earlier this year, and this is why their first Christmas in their new home will be doubly depressing.
The entire royal family will find the upcoming holiday season difficult as it will be the first one without Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away in September.
Due to their new location, it will be especially heartbreaking for the Wales family. They reportedly moved as a large family from London to Adelaide Cottage just a week before Her Majesty passed away in order to be closer to her.
The late Queen’s final years were spent at Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Estate, not far from Windsor Castle, where she spent the final years of her life during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to their new location in Windsor and the proximity to the Princess’ parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, they are more likely to receive family visits over the holiday season.
As his late mother used to do, King Charles has declared that he will travel to Sandringham in Norfolk this Christmas to celebrate. It is unknown if Charles and Camilla will be joined by his son Prince William and his family.
The royal residences now have more lights, ornaments, and magnificent trees than ever thanks to the royal household staff’s decorating efforts over the past few weeks.
Visitors can admire a sizable tree in the grounds of Kensington Palace, the Prince and Princess of Wales’ London residence that they still use for professional purposes.
King Charles’ residences have been tastefully decked out, including a huge tree with 3,000 lights in St. George’s Hall at Windsor Castle and another one in the grounds of Sandringham.
