In order to accept the Ripple of Hope Award at the Robert F Kennedy Human Rights organization’s gala on Tuesday night, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made an elegant entrance.
In a stunning custom Louis Vuitton column dress with a bardot neckline, long sleeves, and folded detailing on the waist, Meghan stole the show.
She completed her look with a ring made of aquamarine that once belonged to Princess Diana, Harry’s late mother. In contrast, Prince Harry looked dapper in a sharp blue suit and a clean white shirt.
Even though they both looked stunning, it was Harry’s remarks about the evening that garnered the most attention.
The royal said to RFKHR president Kerry Kennedy as the couple entered the stage to accept their award: “You know, Kerry, I just thought we were going on a date night, so I thought it was kind of strange that we were sharing a room with 1500 other people!
Because our children are so young and small, we don’t go out very often anymore, so this is totally unexpected.
Harry continued, “But it’s nice to share date night with all of you, so thank you for coming,” to the audience’s laughter.
“Thank you for bringing me on this very special date night,” his beaming wife Meghan said. Harry responded, “You’re welcome.
Robert F. Kennedy’s daughter Ms. Kennedy praised the Sussexes for their “incredibly brave” stance on racial justice and mental illness.
On the blue carpet of the event, she told US outlet Extra, “They’ve stood up, they’ve talked about racial justice, and they’ve talked about mental illness in a way that was incredibly brave.”
“Following Covid, there has been a huge increase in this world. People from all over the world have reported having severe anxiety and depression.
“Meghan’s decision to go on national television and normalize the conversation about mental health at this time is very brave and extremely important.”
