Princes William and Harry write joint letter for Christmas carol service

This week, the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex put their differences aside to sign a letter that was a part of the order of service at the yearly Henry Van Straubenzee Christmas Carol Concert.

The occasion, which Pippa Middleton, her brother James, and their spouses attended this year, is held to raise money to support efforts to fight poverty in Uganda through education. It was named in honor of a friend of Prince William and Prince Harry who passed away in a car accident in 2002.

The royal brothers have supported the fund since 2009 and have previously attended the church service. Harry and Henry were classmates at Ludgrove Preparatory School in Berkshire, where Prince William also studied.

Despite the fact that neither could make it this year, they wrote a letter that was printed in the order of service. It stated: “We believe that everyone here tonight will agree that what Claire and Alex have accomplished since 2009 is nothing short of extraordinary.

As you assemble tonight under this roof, the charity is supporting 51 primary, secondary, and nursery schools in rural Uganda, where 1,700 projects have been finished and more than 35,000 children benefit from receiving an education they otherwise wouldn’t have.

They continued, using his nickname from school, “For those of us who knew Henners, we will always miss his mischievous charm and hilarious sense of humor.”

Henry’s legacy will endure thanks to the amazing things his parents have accomplished over the years.

“As long as funds allow, they will continue to monitor their schools, making sure that the children of south east Uganda receive that crucial education, giving them the chance to escape poverty as they grow up, and hopefully that of their own children in the future,” they said in their conclusion. We appreciate your ongoing help in making this happen as well as the Van family’s unwavering support, which we all adore and love.

The royal brothers were absent from the service this year

In addition, the brothers wished the congregation “a very Merry Christmas” and a “enjoyable evening.”

This year, Prince William was away with his wife Princess Kate on a three-day royal tour of Boston, America, so he was unable to attend the service.

Additionally absent from the service were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
