Prior to the Boston Earthshot Prize Awards in 2022, the Prince of Wales greeted US President Joe Biden on Friday afternoon.
When the President visited New England for a union event and a fundraiser, the two met at the John F. Kennedy library. When they first met, just before 3 o’clock after lunch, Biden reportedly asked William, “Where’s your top coat?”
Video captured the two chatting amiably outside the library, with Biden bundled up against the bitter cold. William was still only dressed in his suit, no top coat.
William is eager to talk about tonight’s Earthshot Prize ceremony and “share the legacy of last year’s finalists and the impact they’re having globally,” a spokeswoman for the Prince of Wales told HELLO!
They continued, “He’s also eager to thank the American people for the welcoming reception he and the Princess have received this week.
The royals have previously interacted with Biden; in fact, they did so in 2021 while attending the COP26 Climate Summit in Scotland. During his first 18 months in office, President Biden has led significant domestic climate action and passed several important pieces of legislation that will help.
The royal couple attended separate events earlier in the day. Mother-of-three Catherine stopped by the Harvard University Center on the Developing Child. Due to her ongoing efforts to emphasize the significance of early years when it comes to later life outcomes, the cause is dear to her heart.
Catherine participated in a 30-minute discussion to exchange ideas and skills on behalf of the Harvard center and the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. The Princess shared with the experts that she hoped it would “be the first of many” and expressed how she had a lot to learn and wished to stay for longer—or even take a Harvard course. She was wearing a houndstooth dress by Emilia Wickstead and earrings by Lenique Louis.
“There is so much amazing work being done, and we need to start sharing the knowledge and science of what is being done, as well as what can be done better and improved, to assist children in their transition from childhood to adulthood. It aggravates me because I want to stay here for days ” – she said.

“The biggest societal challenges, homelessness and addiction, and the significance of how resilience is built with foundations and better mental health for people early in life, are what first sparked my interest in early childhood.”
The royal signed the guest book when she arrived, just like her father-in-law King Charles did when he went to the facility in 1986.
Along with Ambassador Caroline Kennedy and her children Jack and Tatiana Schlossber, William also went on a solo excursion to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

Before the moon landing in 1969, William was shown artifacts from the Kennedy Administration’s crucial 1960s years, including a replica of JFK’s well-known “We Choose to Go to the Moon” speech, which he gave at Rice University in Houston in September 1962.
Following their visit, the Kennedys joined William for a private lunch and conversation with representatives from the Earthshot Prize’s Founding Partner organizations.
