Thanksgiving is observed on November 24 as a national holiday in the US to express gratitude for the bounty of the harvest.
Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, along with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are known to celebrate the holiday together as a family; Meghan previously informed talk show host Ellen DeGeneres of their plans. Meghan revealed in 2021, “I enjoy cooking. Once we get home, we’ll probably just unwind and settle in. We will enjoy spending our second Thanksgiving at home in California.

The Sussex family will likely spend time together at home for Thanksgiving in 2022, and Meghan’s mother Doria might join them as well as a few neighborhood friends.
The celebrity friends James Corden and family, Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, and their kids all reside nearby, and Ellen is close friends with Meghan and has previously attended the Duchess’ home Halloween party.
In 2016, Meghan, who was still playing Rachel Zane on the legal drama Suits, shared a photo of herself holding a sizable, cooked turkey, a Thanksgiving staple.

On her since-deleted Instagram account and lifestyle blog, The Tig, she had previously shared her advice for cooking the “perfect Thanksgiving turkey” and even provided suggestions for repurposing leftovers.
“My Turkey Tortilla Soup is my favorite meal with Thanksgiving leftovers,” Meghan wrote on The Tig. It appears that the couple is already teaching their kids these good values. Meghan took journalist Allison P. Davis with her to pick up Archie from school in a recent interview with The Cut for The New York Times, and she wrote about their custom in the article.
“If he [Archie] forgets to say please or thank you, Meghan reminds him of the manners that make the man,” she wrote during the ride.
“At a stoplight, she [Meghan] reaches into the trunk and pulls out a brand-new black backpack and hands it to her security detail to give to an unhoused man on the corner,” the source continued.
“They are showing Archie that not everyone lives in a house, some do, some do, and some live in a house between two others,” they said. They created kits to distribute that included granola bars, water, and peanut butter crackers. Then Archie says, “I ate one!”
