According to a royal expert, after speaking with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Meghan Markle appears to have changed her mind about assuming a royal title for her children.
The Duchess of Sussex previously disregarded the significance of titles within the royal family, according to royal commentator Neil Sean.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s HRH status was removed in 2020 after they left the royal family, but they can still use the title of Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The titles of Meghan and Harry’s children, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, have not yet been decided since Charles became King.
Mr. Sean asserts that Meghan changed her mind after learning how beneficial titles were for Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, and that the Duchess is now determined to hold on to them.
But in her shocking interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, Meghan seemed to completely discount the significance of titles.

I’ve been clear on who I am, independent of all that stuff, and the most significant title I’ll ever have is mom, she continued. I’m aware of that
Neil now claims that Meghan has experienced a “dramatic change of heart regarding titles” and now thinks it’s crucial for her and her kids to retain their titles.
Harry and Meghan are “extremely, extremely eager to cling onto those royal titles,” he said.
Meghan “decided after much thought that the titles would be good for her and both her children as well.”
“Meghan became very friendly with senior members of the monarchy, particularly Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice,” the expert continued.
Meghan then understood the value of a title, especially when trying to network in the right circles.
They desire titles for this reason, according to the statement.
She realized the value of those titles to Beatrice and Eugenie after becoming friends with them, Neil continued.
