Speaking with journalist Robert Hardman, who wrote about his conversation with the Prince in the MailOnline, William revealed that, despite his disagreements, Her Majesty ultimately decided on his wedding attire.
Prince William reportedly said: “I wanted to choose what to wear to the wedding.”
“He categorically stated, “No, you’ll wear this!” and then produced his Irish Guards uniform, which was his most senior military position and which he had just been appointed to as a colonel.
He went on: “In other words, you don’t always get what you want.
However, I was fully aware that it was for the best. That refusal is an excellent refusal. Therefore, just follow instructions!”

In their engagement interview, journalist Tom Bradby remarked, “You know it better than Kate does, you’re obviously very protective of her.” William’s reply was: “Extremely so Of course, I want to make sure she and her family receive the best guidance and opportunities to experience family life.
The Princess laughed as he continued, “That’s kind of why I have been waiting this long as I wanted to give her a chance to see and to back out if she needed to. Before it becomes too much, William continued.
Twelve years later, the three-parent family is now a senior member of the royal family, supporting King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla in the wake of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
