However, William still has one item on his bucket list that is unchecked.

The Prince spoke this week at a symposium of Tusk Conservation Award recipients and shared his greatest wish while moving around the room with Charles Mayhew MBE, the head of Tusk.

Dr. Gladys Kalema, CEO of Conservation Through Public Health in Uganda and a finalist for the 2019 Tusk award, was one of the individuals he spoke with and told him: “Hopefully we can take you to see the gorillas.”

William replied, referring to Mr. Mayhew as Charlie: “Yes, Charlie goes on and on about the gorillas. One day, I hope to visit the gorillas.

“I’m really keen to do it because it’s kind of the one thing I haven’t been able to do yet.”

William, the Tusk Trust’s patron, was undoubtedly happy throughout the occasion.

When a panel of judges questioned William about this year’s winners, he mentioned one of the finalists, Kenyan David Daballen, and said: “He speaks so eloquently. He will enchant everyone wherever he goes. I therefore have a particularly soft spot for David.

The Prince urged people not to be sidetracked by “turbulent times” and forget how crucial it is to preserve the natural world during the awards ceremony.

A joint recipient of the Prince William Award for Conservation in Africa, a lifetime achievement award, was Ian Craig, the father of Jecca Craig, who is rumored to have dated William.

Dedicated to protecting the environment, Jecca herself helped found Stop Ivory, an organization that works to protect elephants, and Panthera, the largest wildcat conservation organization in the world.
