Body language expert Darren Stanton observed Meghan Markle as she made solo appearances without her husband Prince Harry and concluded that she has “grown in confidence.”
This week, Meghan participated in a physical and video interview for Variety in which she discussed how her family handled their grief following the Queen’s passing and shared other endearing details about the two kids she and Harry share, Archie and Lilibet.
Darren told Slingo about the assurance he noticed in her during the video segments: “I think Meghan comes into her own when she is alone. She seems to have gained confidence, especially during solo media appearances.
“I’m not saying she doesn’t exude confidence with Harry, but she seems more at ease when appearing on screen by herself,” he continued.
The Duchess was able to “turn on the charm” with the interviewer, according to Darren, by making eye contact and smiling.
As an example of how certain techniques could make someone feel “special,” he said of Meghan in this clip: “The first thing is that she has amazing eye contact to whom she is addressing.
“We discuss how three to five seconds of genuine eye contact is the ideal amount of time, and she definitely follows this advice. When looking at the interviewer, she is also not sidetracked. This is a smart way to make someone feel unique.
He added that Meghan’s face showed that she was having “genuine happiness” outside of the interview.
He claimed that when someone is being genuine, their entire face is involved, as opposed to when they are trying to hide their sadness, when only half of their face is involved. “Her entire face is focused, and she exudes positivity.”
Former Derbyshire police officer Darren, also known as the “Human Lie Detector,” has a degree in psychology.
He has shared his knowledge by making appearances on shows like This Morning and The One Show.
