There have been a few occasions when Prince William and Kate have indulged in some PDA, despite the fact that it has historically been considered improper by royal protocol.
Many people have questioned whether William and Kate ever hold hands in public because the Wales’ public displays of affection are less frequent. They do, indeed!
Many tender moments between the couple have been captured on camera, including a number of stunning black and white pictures of the couple taken backstage at the Earthshot Prize Awards in October 2021 by royal photographer Chris Jackson.

During their royal train tour of the UK in December 2020, William was seen holding Kate Middleton’s back while they shared a marshmallow at a Christmas market stall at Cardiff Castle.
The Duchess was seen affectionately encircling her husband in August 2020 as they laughed together while having fun in Barry Island’s arcades.
In February 2020, William and Kate were seen looking into each other’s eyes as they strolled down the pier at The Mumbles in South Wales. The Duchess even wore a Beulah London scarf with a heart print since Valentine’s Day was just a few weeks away.
When William and his wife traveled to Blackpool in March 2019, William’s arm was subtly tucked behind her waist. They were also seen walking across the Kensington Palace lawn holding hands as they boarded a helicopter to travel to their engagement.
In October 2018, William and Kate were seen holding hands during a walkabout in Leicester. As they conversed with locals, the couple was seen holding hands and laughing. Kate gave her husband adoring looks the entire time.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at the customary Christmas church service in Sandringham in December 2017 holding hands. The eagerly anticipated arrival saw them seated alongside Prince Harry and Meghan, and it was the former actress’ first time attending the annual event with the royal family.

Prior to the focus turning to the stunning bride Princess Eugenie and her dashing groom Jack Brooksbank, Prince William and Kate made a very uncommon public display of affection by holding hands.

In the month leading up to the birth of Prince Louis, their third child together, Prince William made sure his heavily pregnant wife was well taken care of.
