King Charles has announced that he will host President Cyril Ramaphosa and First Lady Dr. Tshepo Motsepe of the Republic of South Africa at Buckingham Palace next month.
Before the Queen’s passing in September, plans for the state visit—first of Charles’s as the new King—were just getting started. It will occur from Tuesday, November 22, to Thursday, November 24, 2022.
Since his initial trip to South Africa in 1997, which included stops in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town, the King has made several trips there.
On his most recent trip, which he took with the Duchess of Cornwall at the time, he spoke at the University of Cape Town about climate change and visited the Phinda Game Reserve’s Black Rhino Range Expansion Project.

The royal couple then went to the Nelson Mandela Foundation, where Graca Machel, the former president’s widow, welcomed them.
Charles also attended the 2013 funeral for Mr. Mandela.
When South African President Jacob Zuma visited the UK in 2010, the late Queen Elizabeth welcomed him, and Charles and Camilla joined them at a state dinner held at Buckingham Palace.
Camilla wowed in her Greville Tiara, also known as the Boucheron Honeycomb Tiara, at the time.

A State Dinner is anticipated, and Charles and Camilla will likely be joined by other working members of the royal family, such as the Prince and Princess of Wales, even though no specific plans for the visit have been made public yet.
It will mark Kate’s first time donning a tiara since assuming the title of Princess of Wales, which her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, had previously held.
The mother-of-three’s potential choice of tiara is unknown, but she has previously chosen the Lotus Flower and Lover’s Knot tiaras for State occasions, which she has worn on more than eight separate occasions.
