Royal family makes major change – and it affects Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Since the Queen’s passing, the official royal family website has undergone some significant changes.

The official period of mourning for the late monarch ended this week, and the profiles page of the website underwent a significant change.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester appear above Harry and Meghan

The positioning of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has been altered, and their profiles have been lowered.

Now, Harry’s link can be found third from the bottom, above his wife Meghan and Prince Andrew, who is displayed at the page’s very bottom.

At first, Meghan and Harry were not so near the bottom of the page. The couple was previously ranked ahead of other members of the family, including the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent, Princess Alexandra, who is 56th in line of succession, and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, even though they were always depicted below senior royals like the Prince and Princess of Wales.

The Sussexes made the decision to step down as senior royals in 2020

However, it’s believed that the repositioning was done to give working royal family members priority.

The Sussexes declared in 2020 that they would give up their positions as senior members of the royal family.

About 15 months ago, they were first repositioned lower on the royal family website, below the Wessexes and Princess Anne. They had previously been placed immediately after the Prince and Princess of Wales.

The couple have now been moved further down the page on the Royal Family’s website

The title change comes amid rumors that Archie and Lilibet, the children of Harry and Meghan, might also get new names.

Because of the 1917 Letters Patent, they acquired the right to be HRH when Charles became King. King George V made the decision that allows the monarch’s grandchildren to take on His/Her Royal Highness (HRH) titles.

King Charles will decide the appropriate titles for Archie and Lilibet

The children’s revised titles have not yet appeared on the royal family’s website, though.

According to rumors, King Charles will decide whether to change the names of Archie and Lilibet after the publication of Prince Harry’s book in 2023.
