The Sussex family is back together in Montecito

How Prince Harry’s children Archie and Lilibet are spending autumn in California

After attending the funeral of Prince Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have returned to their home in Montecito, California.

The couple traveled for a total of 17 days after attending charity events in Manchester and Germany prior to learning of the monarch’s tragic passing. Archie and Lilibet Sussex, who are thought to have remained at home in the US during this time, are thought to have returned to a large family gathering.

What are the autumn months like for young Archie, age three, and Lilibet, age 15 months, now that they are all back together as a family of four?

Archie, the oldest child of Harry and Meghan, is currently a busy boy who spends the weekdays at his pre-school in California. Allison P. Davis recently spoke with The Cut for The New York Times website and disclosed that Archie had returned to school and was prepared to start attending classes all day.

The interviewer revealed that a “update letter from his teacher” reveals that he had a good day, despite not eating his sandwich, and is ready to start going for full days rather than half days. The interviewer was with Meghan as she was picked up from school.

We also discovered that when his mother picks him up from school, “cheerful” Archie yells out, “Momma, Momma, Momma!”

The young royal “brings a week’s worth of freshly picked fruit for his fellow classmates” and attends the birthday celebrations of his school friends.

Meanwhile, Lilibet, who is now 15 months old, is probably wobbling around the house. Toddlers at this age are “into everything,” so the young child will no doubt keep Meghan and Harry on their toes!

Meghan mentioned that the children currently have a “amazing” nanny named Lauren who has been working with the family for some time in a recent episode of her Spotify podcast, Archetypes.

Doria Ragland, the mother of the Duchess, also resides close by and is likely to stop by their Montecito mansion frequently.

In September, it’s still hot and sunny in this part of California, so we anticipate the Sussexes will make the most of their outdoor lifestyle. They are known to enjoy going on bike rides and visiting the beach with their pet dogs. They have a sizable garden in which the kids can play.

The family has previously celebrated Halloween by dressing up their kids in amusing costumes. We wonder what Archie and Lilibet will be this year. Halloween is coming up on October 31.

In a 2021 interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Meghan said: “We tried to plan a fun activity for the kids, but they just weren’t interested. For around five minutes, Archie predated the dinosaurs.”

“No, not even for five minutes,” Ellen, who traveled with the Sussexes for the holiday, retorted. “Finally Harry talked him into having the head on, but Lili was a skunk.” She was a little skunk, like Flower from Bambi, Meghan chuckled.
