After a very emotional visit in the wake of the Queen’s untimely death on September 8 and the subsequent funeral on September 10, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have left the United Kingdom.
According to HELLO!, the couple left London Heathrow on Tuesday. As was previously mentioned, the couple arrived in Britain early on Saturday, September 3, for what was supposed to be a quick trip to visit a few charities. Harry and Meghan will have been anxious to see their two children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, after spending 17 days away from them.
During Harry and Meghan’s extended stay, they got to see the new Prince and Princess of Wales as well as other members of the royal family.
The royal couples surprised mourners on September 10 when they both showed up at Windsor Castle to view memorials left by members of the public. The Sussexes received a last-minute invitation from William personally inviting the families to participate in the event together.
The Duke also participated in a vigil for his grandmother at Westminster Abbey, where he and the Queen’s other grandchildren stood watch over her casket as it was laid to rest.
Harry was in civilian clothing for the funeral, though King Charles had given him permission to wear his military uniform for the solemn occasion.
Harry and Princess Charlotte shared a tender moment while watching the ceremony from their respective seats in Westminster Abbey.
Princess Charlotte, age seven, was seen adjusting her hat before turning to face her uncle, who smiled at the young princess and glanced up for a brief moment.
The young royal was seated in the same pew as her parents, brother, and aunt Meghan, next to her uncle.
