During Queen Elizabeth II’s Committal Service in Windsor, Prince Harry and his niece Princess Charlotte shared a tearful glance.
Princess Charlotte, age seven, was seen adjusting her hat before turning to face her uncle, who smiled at the young princess and glanced up for a brief moment. The young royal was seated in the same row as her parents, brother, and aunt Meghan Markle, next to her uncle.
It has been a big day for Charlotte, who performed God Save the King with her brother Prince George for the first time at the funeral of the monarch. The young royals were seen singing along with the rest of the royal family and their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Princess Charlotte wore a formal hat for the first time at the funeral as well. The hat had a classy bow at the back and a wide brim. The brand that her mother, Princess Kate, frequently chooses for her amazing headbands was assumed to be Jane Taylor.
The wearing of a brooch, her first piece of jewelry for a royal engagement, marked Princess Charlotte’s third major accomplishment.
She added a subtle diamond horseshoe brooch to her black dress as an embellishment, thought to be a nod to Her Majesty’s love of horses. The late monarch was well known for her love of both horses and horse racing, and she took her first riding lessons when she was just three years old.
The princess curtsied alongside Queen Consort Camilla, her mother, the Princess of Wales, and her aunt, Meghan Markle.
Following a brief moment of adorable sibling interaction between George and Charlotte, Prince George stood alongside the royal ladies and bowed in remembrance of the late monarch.
Following Her Majesty’s funeral service at Westminster Abbey, the pair were in Wellington Arch, where Charlotte was seen advising her older brother to bow as the Queen’s coffin passed them.
