The Queen received on Tuesday the Canterbury Cross, which was presented to her Majesty by the Archbishop of Canterbury in a special ceremony.
The monarch flaunted her new haircut at the ceremony, with her silver locks trimmed back around the sides and back. The Queen looked stunning in a stunning floral dress adorned with pink roses as she was presented with the award in Windsor Castle. The 96-year-old monarch was honored for her “unwavering service” to the Church of England during her 70-year reign.

The stunning silver cross she was given was inspired by a 9th-century Saxon brooch. The triquetra pattern is used to represent the church’s “love, loyalty, and affection.”
The item was placed in a red box with a blue ribbon and presented to the Queen. The monarch was given a special cross with platinum inserts to commemorate her Platinum Jubilee.
The Canterbury Cross is usually given out at the Lambeth Awards and is only given to those who have excelled in church service.
There was also a citation from the Archbishop in the box, which read: “In her roles as Defender of the Faith and Supreme Governor of the Church of England, Her Majesty has faithfully upheld both the Christian religion and the Church of England throughout her reign.

“Her Majesty has made manifest her own deep faith and its relevance to all that she undertakes, whether in the formality of General Synod opening sessions or the more intimate context of her personal addresses to the nation and Commonwealth at Christmas.
“Her subtle understanding of the Established Church’s changing position in England has sustained and encouraged laypeople and clergy alike.

“Her concern for the unity of her people and the well-being of the poor has been a constant source of inspiration for the entire Church. Hers is an example of a well-lived Christian life.
“This presentation of the Canterbury Cross is a heartfelt symbol of the Church of England’s love, loyalty, and affection for Her Majesty, and it represents the Church’s recognition and gratitude for her seventy years of unwavering service. The Queen is in danger!”
