Carole Middleton Appears to Wear Her Daughter Kate’s Dress to Royal Ascot

Carole Middleton appears to have worn her daughter Kate’s dress to the Royal Ascot opening day. They’re both wearing the same dress—a pink color block midi dress from ME+EM—but it’s unclear whether they’re wearing the same one or if they each bought their own from the London-based label.

The dress was first worn by the Duchess of Cambridge in May 2021 during a royal visit to Scotland. She replaced the belt that came with the dress with a Boden belt.

Kate wore a pink dress because she was meeting with Mila Sneddon, a five-year-old cancer patient who is featured in one of Kate’s Hold Still photographs. Mila shared her favorite color, pink, with Kate when they first spoke on the phone in 2020, and Kate promised to wear a pink dress when they met.

Carole, on the other hand, wore the dress with the belt that came with it to today’s Royal Ascot.

Carole isn’t the first person to wear a look that her daughter first wore. Carole wore a fascinator that Kate had previously worn in 2010:

Carole and her husband, Michael, attended the Royal Ascot today. Kate and Prince William were unable to attend because they were attending a memorial service for the five-year anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire. The Cambridges, on the other hand, are almost certain to attend at least one day of the Ascot this year—a it’s must-see event on the royal calendar.

This week, the Cambridges have been in the news quite a bit. On Sunday, it was reported that Kate and William were planning to relocate their family to Windsor, bringing them closer to Queen Elizabeth, who now lives in Windsor full-time, and the Middletons, who live in Bucklebury, West Berkshire.
