When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited the United Kingdom in early June for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, they had another reason to rejoice: their daughter, Lilibet Diana, turned one year old.
A photo was released to commemorate Lili’s first birthday, and royal fans gushed about how adorable she looked and debated who she looked the most like. Of course, there were numerous comments debating whether she looks more like her mother or father. Other royal watchers, on the other hand, couldn’t help but notice Lilibet’s resemblance to Princess Charlotte, the daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Fans are divided on whether Lilibet resembles Meghan or Harry.
Many royal fans responded to a collage of photos featuring Lili posted by the Sussexes’ friend photographer, Misan Harriman, on Twitter. Several people have said that Lilibet looks exactly like Prince Harry did when he was that age.
“Lili is all Prince Harry,” one fan said.
“I imagine if Harry was born a little girl, he would look exactly like Lilibet, too cuuuuute!!!” said another.
“Harry’s Daughter!” exclaims the narrator. “The father’s copy,” a third fan wrote, while a fourth added.
However, not everyone believes Lilibet is her father’s twin.
“She’s all Markle… dead ringer for Thomas,” one Twitter user said of the duchess’s family.
“She has Meghan’s nose, too,” said another.
“The first thing I noticed with Lilibet’s picture were Meghan Markle’s eyes!” wrote another fan. The little girl resembles her mother! (In my opinion): The eyes, the eyes, the eyes, the eyes, the eyes, the eyes, the eyes, the eyes, the Only her hair is a different color!” “Lilibet looks a lot like Meghan,” another person agreed. Don’t be fooled by the ginger hair and blue eyes!”
Princess Charlotte and Lilibet are said to resemble’sisters’ by fans.
Other royal fans discussed how Lilibet and Charlotte share a striking resemblance in a number of side-by-side photos posted on social media while the debate raged on.
“Cousins who look alike,” one Twitter user wrote.
Another said that two little girls have the same “eyes and smiles,” and yet another said that “they both have those Windsor eyes.”
“She really looks related to Princess Charlotte, like sisters,” a royal fan tweeted, referring to the princess and Lili as “sisters.” “She could easily be Charlotte’s little sister,” wrote another. “Once again, the Spencer genes shine through.”
Others believe Princess Diana can be seen in both of her granddaughters.
Fans were also enthralled by an Instagram video featuring images of Princess Diana as a child, with many claiming that the little girls resembled their grandmother. People have been able to compare Charlotte’s photos to those of her late grandmother for years, and now that there is a photo of Lili to compare, many believe she does as well.
One social media user said of Harry and Meghan’s daughter, “Oh my goodness, the little girl looks like Diana!”
“She looks like a Spencer!” said another. Diana, Diana!”
Others, however, believe Lili resembles another royal, writing, “Am I the only one who sees Queen Elizabeth in this little girl’s face?” Take a look at those cheekbones and that grin!”
First of all, SOPHIA (not Lilibet), does not and never will resemble Meghan because Meghan is NOT her biological mother. I am. So let’s just get that straight. Sophia is her father’s mini-me, just like I was my father’s mini-me. That could change as she ages and I may be seen in her facial features once she matures. As I’ve gotten older, I look more and more like my maternal grandmother. I already have many of her personality traits and physique but I look like her now, also.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Soph and Charlotte resemble each other. They are first cousins, after all. My first cousin, Zachary, and I look more like siblings than my brother, Chris, and I do. Zach and I actually look a lot alike. So, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Soph and Charlotte look alike.
