At the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee concert on Saturday, Princess Charlotte and Prince George had a hilarious exchange.
Princess Charlotte appeared to wave her flag in the direction of her older brother’s face, with a twinkle in her eye that suggested she was hoping to annoy her older brother, in a sweet display of sibling affection that went otherwise unnoticed.
The seven-year-old appeared to be in good spirits as she waved her Union Jack flag toward Prince George with a focused expression.
Even more amusing is Prince George’s apparent refusal to be drawn into the amusing situation! The eight-year-old appeared unconcerned about Charlotte, refusing to react and continuing to enjoy the joyful concert. The young royal was unimpressed by his sister’s antics, with his brows slightly raised.
Along with their parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the couple attended the BBC Party at the Palace. Diana Ross, Alicia Keys, Nile Rodgers, Andrea Bocelli, and Duran Duran were among the stars who performed for the family.
Mike and Zara Tindall, who sat behind the Cambridges, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex, as well as their children Lady Louise Windsor and James Viscount Severn, were among the other royals in attendance.
This isn’t the first time the duo has wowed audiences with their antics. Princess Charlotte guffawed uncontrollably alongside her older brother in a candid photo taken during their visit to Cardiff Castle.
Charlotte took the sweet snap as she took over as conductor from John Quirk and began leading an orchestra in a performance of Disney’s Encanto’s We Don’t Talk About Bruno.
Charlotte flashed a toothy grin, clearly enjoying the moment, while George offered a shy smile of support.
The Jubilee Pageant, a spectacular £15 million procession, will wrap up the action-packed weekend on Sunday. Idris Elba and Sir Cliff Richard are among the celebrities who will appear in open-top buses as part of a celebration of the Queen’s 70-year reign’s culture and music.
The monarch is expected to make a final appearance on the Palace balcony to see Ed Sheeran and a choir of nearly 200 celebrities perform the national anthem.
