Royal family forced to delete Platinum Jubilee tweet about the Queen after major error

The royal family is sharing 70 epic photos of the Queen on social media to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, one for each of her 70 years on the throne – but they were forced to remove their most recent post on Saturday.

The Queen’s official page posted a photo from the wrong year for their 2017 entry, which was a blunder.

Harry and Meghan will not make a balcony appearance

The Queen was photographed on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, watching a flypast commemorating the Royal Air Force’s 100th anniversary.

The Royal Air Force celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2018, contrary to the tweet.

The error was quickly corrected, and the old photograph was replaced with a glorious image of the monarch on one of her final royal engagements with Prince Philip before his retirement.

In the photo, the royal couple are photographed alongside a majestic elephant who appears to have warmed up to the royal couple after offering out his trunk at the ZSL zoo in Whipsnade in April 2017.

In the photo, the Queen and Prince Philip appear to be happier than ever, and even the elephant appears to be smiling for the royal occasion.

The new image was well received by fans. One commenter said in response to the post: “Her Majesty and The Duke of Edinburgh look so lovely together. The elephant has no qualms about befriending royalty #hm70.”

A second person wrote: “This photograph appeals to me because of the three people in it. Nice composition and moment.”

“It’s so lovely,” said a third. “How sweet,” wrote a fourth. “Best smiles,” wrote a fifth, while others left heart-eye emojis.

Her Majesty has been photographed alongside the Pope, Nelson Mandela, and even Postman Pat in the iconic images so far.
