Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrate exciting news ahead of return to Canada

This week, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan received some incredible news, and they will undoubtedly be overjoyed.

The Canadian government and the government of British Columbia have each committed $15 million to support the 2025 Invictus Games, which will be held in Vancouver and Whistler.

The Games were founded by the Prince in 2014, and the Sussexes made their first public appearance three years later at the Invictus Games in Toronto, where they looked so in love.

For several reasons, Canada holds a special place in the hearts of the couple, including the fact that it is where Meghan lived while filming the TV show Suits and where the couple lived – and spent their first Christmas with son Archie – after stepping down as senior royal servants.

Meghan attended the launch of this year’s Invictus Games in the Netherlands with her husband.

The Games, which allow injured and ill military personnel to compete in a variety of sports, were postponed twice due to the pandemic before finally taking place in April.

When Harry welcomed Colombia and Nigeria to the Invictus Games Foundation last week, he revealed that two more nations would be competing in future events.

He said in a statement: “Last month in The Hague, the world witnessed the strength of our Invictus community, and now I am delighted to announce that Colombia and Nigeria have joined our inspiring international family.

“I’m proud to say that Invictus is now represented on every continent as we continue to harness the power of sport in recovery and rehabilitation year-round (except Antarctica)

“The Invictus community of nations is built on the strength of the men and women who serve or have served, and it’s a great honor to expand our community and programming to include even more wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans.”
