For her rare public appearance, the 96-year-old royal was dressed to the nines. In an embellished pale blue silk frock with a grey shawl, she looked stunning. During the show, she had another blanket draped over her lap.

Despite her ongoing mobility issues, the Queen, who navigated the venue with the help of her walking stick, appeared to be in good spirits and overjoyed to be there. She appeared happy and relaxed throughout the show, laughing and smiling as she spoke about her lifelong love of horses.

The monarch was joined by her youngest son Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, who wore velvet trousers, a silk blouse, and a faux fur jacket to the event.

The Queen received a standing ovation and cheers from the crowds as she arrived. The event, which featured a cast of entertainers ranging from Tom Cruise to Dame Helen Mirren, who once again played Queen Elizabeth I, was the first major one to kick off the official Platinum Jubilee celebrations marking the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.

The performance on Sunday night also featured Damian Lewis, Omid Djalili, and Katherine Jenkins, and covered events from the first Elizabethan period to the present day.

Her Majesty enjoyed her evening out

The Queen appeared to enjoy the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force’s steel drum performance of the Abba classic Dancing Queen, as she was seen clapping enthusiastically after a drum-off between the Top Secret Drum Corps and the Royal Marines, who both performed at her 90th birthday celebrations.
